On a day of patriotic celebration at the White House, the president signed the “Big, Beautiful Bill” a signature policy bill that cements a collection of Trump’s campaign promises.

All Texas Republicans in the House along with Senators John Cornyn and Ted Cruz voted for it. Democrats who serve in Congress voted against the measure and call it "One Ugly Bill." The new law came after lengthy debates among Republicans in the House and Senate.

Republicans have long been in favor of lower rates and a simpler tax code. For Trump, only one of those priorities mattered.
