A former DACA recipient who received a green card under the Biden administration has been charged in connection with an anti-ICE attack in Alvarado, Texas.

A federal law enforcement source told CBS News that local police arrested eight people. The official said some of those apprehended were wearing body armor.

Phones buzzed across Texas just before 8 p.m. Wednesday with a high-priority emergency alert. But it wasn't about flooding, a storm, or a missing child. It was about a five-day-old shooting at an ICE detention center hundreds of miles away.

The FBI is searching for Benjamin Hanil Song in connection with a July 4 shooting at the Prairieland Detention Center in Alvarado, an ICE-operated facility.

The suspect is believed to have fired two AR-15-style rifles at three officers, and his criminal complaint document says he was in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves for five years.

The Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office helped arrest Sergio Olivares, a suspect accused of damaging and chasing an ICE vehicle in the Houston area.
