South Carolina women's basketball had its best first quarter of the season, starting with a 9-0 run and never taking its foot off the gas as they picked up a 95-44 win over East Carolina on Sunday afternoon.

South Carolina used its depth to overwhelm East Carolina, overcoming a rocky third quarter for a 95-44 win. After beating Coppin State on Thursday, Dawn Staley lamented that South Carolina got careless once it had a lead.

After Coppin State agreed in August to play at South Carolina, Gamecocks coach Dawn Staley confirmed they would return the favor in 2025.

The No. 1 South Carolina women's basketball team defeated the Coppin State Eagles on Thursday night 92-60. Sophomore guard MiLaysia Fulwiley scored 23 points, while junior forward Chloe Kitts scored 19 points and recorded 10 rebounds.

The Gamecocks (1-0) defeated unranked Michigan 68-62 in their season opener on Monday night at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, after they trailed for a majority of the first half. Chloe Kitts had 14 points and seven rebounds to lead No. 1 South Carolina to a 95-44 win over East Carolina on Sunday for the Gamecocks’ 42nd straight victory. MiLaysia Fulwiley and freshman Joyce Edwards added 12 points apiece as the Gamecocks (4-0) finished with five players in double figures on the way to their 61st consecutive home win.
