The Trump administration completed a large-scale prisoner swap with Venezuela on Friday, two sources familiar with the matter tell CNN. El Salvador is repatriating dozens of detained Venezuelans in exchange for US nationals held in Venezuela, the governments of the US and El Salvador announced on Friday.

There are currently at least eight Americans who the US believes are wrongfully detained in Venezuela, and all of them were expected to be released as part of the swap, the sources said.
