After razing the New Jersey ride — once known as the tallest and fastest roller coaster in the world — the amusement-resort operator has announced the closure of two Six Flags properties: Six Flags America & Hurricane Harbor in Bowie, Maryland, and California’s Great America in Santa Clara.

Six Flags is likely to close its California's Great America park in Santa Clara, California, at the end of the 2027 season. The park's lease is coming to an end, and the company's chief financial officer, Brian Witherow, told investors in May that there were no current plans to extend the lease.
