Gaetz resigned Wednesday, effectively ending a House Ethics Committee investigation into the allegations that the former representative engaged in sexual misconduct and illegal drug use and accepted improper gifts.

The Speaker, who is from Louisiana, argues the report should not be released now that Gaetz is no longer in Congress.
