Jon M. Chu is set to direct a live-action 'Hot Wheels' movie for Mattel, Warner Bros. and Bad Robot, Deadline can exclusively reveal.

A Hot Wheels live-action movie is coming, Mattel announced in July 2025. Jon M. Chu is set to direct the movie, with J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions producing and Juel Taylor and Tony Rettenmaier writing the script.
