Mark Dial will avoid additional jail time and was granted immediate parole after he was convicted of shooting and killing Eddie Irizarry.

Judge Glenn Bronson sentenced former Philadelphia police officer Mark Dial to an aggregate of 9 1/2 months to 2 years in prison and granted him immediate parole since he had already served 10 months while he was charged with first-degree murder.

Former officer Mark Dial was convicted of voluntary manslaughter and related crimes in May for the killing of Eddie Irizarry.
