One day after he was placed on the injured list with forearm tightness, it was determined that New York Yankees right-hander Clarke Schmidt likely will undergo Tommy John surgery. Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters Saturday afternoon that Schmidt has a tear in the ulnar collateral ligament of his right elbow.
